Join Jan Griffith, LUL, on Saturday, December 27, from 9 am - Noon in Sacred Grounds and Books at Unity Center of Cedar Rapids.

We will explore many ways to receive a guiding word for the coming year using Christine Valters Paintner’s book Give Me A Word. Books available in Sacred Grounds and Books, but not required for the class.

Included will be drawing words from a card deck for journaling, meditation with an art journal experience, and a poetry reading.  

We will learn about the making of soul collage cards and create one about crossing the threshold into the coming year.  You will go home with ideas to guide you for the rest of 2025 to receive your special word for 2026.  Love offering with $5.00 to cover supplies.

Return Saturday, January 3, from 9 am -Noon as part of CommUnity Creates to celebrate your guiding word for 2026.  We will also celebrate Irish Women’s Christmas…a time of respite after the busy holidays.  Chat over coffee, cookies, and tea as we share our guiding word leading us into 2026.  We will create a special art piece to celebrate our word.  You will learn basic zentangle-like designs and how to draw Celtic designs to decorate your word!
