How to Get Your Affairs in Order: A four-class series

We can help you! This light and humorous interactive workshop will teach you how to get your affairs in order in five main areas:
- recording personal and financial information
- health care and legal documents
- dealing with your postmortem care
- digitally recording your stories or family history for the benefit of future generations
- Once you know what to do and how to do it, you can begin the process of getting your
documentation together and writing down your wishes. Your loved ones will thank you for it!
Class 1: Creating a Good Ending
Sunday, September 27, Noon - 1:30 pm
This class discusses what it means to get your affairs in order; when is a good time and bad time to do it; what happens if you DON’T do it; choosing the team of people who will help you bring closure to your life; how to notify your peeps of your passing; creating a eulogy and obit that honors you, and how to make yourself immortal through digital recording.
Class 2: Health Care & Legal Docs
Wednesday, September 30, 6–7:30 pm
There are health care documents needed now while you are still alive, and legal documents that come into play once you have passed. Local estate planning attorney, Scott Shoemaker, will explain what these documents are and how to get them.
Class 3: 37 Administrative Details to Consider
Saturday. October. 3, 10–11:30 am
Class 3 sets forth in exacting detail the administrative and financial data your Executor and your family will need to put a close to your life. Included in this class is a handout of 37 things you will want to document or pay attention to before your passing.
Class 4: 10 Options for Your Post-Mortem Care
Saturday, October 3, 12:30–2:00 pm
There are more options for post-mortem care than one would think; this class explores ten of them. Additionally, the class offers suggestions for choosing a funeral home and cemetery, and explores several non-traditional things to do with cremated remains.

Bio for Rev. Jan Kraft
Reverend Jan Kraft is an interfaith minister with a 36-year association in Unity. She earned her Bachelor of Liberal Arts and Master of Arts in Education degrees from Antioch University Seattle before earning her interfaith ministerial ordination from The New Seminary in New York City, New York. Reverend Jan has been an inspirational and motivational speaker in churches, senior centers, social clubs and businesses for more than 30 years. In 2015, Jan created her end-of-life educational program, “Leaving Lightly: Getting Your Affairs in Order So All You Leave Behind is Love.”
