In Iowa, 344,550 people (or one in nine) face hunger or food insecurity. One in six children face hunger. The Elayne Fisher Community Cupboard (EFCC) at Unity Center of Cedar Rapids provides groceries for people to help alleviate food insecurity.
Food pantries like EFCC may become increasingly important if cuts are made to SNAP (Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program). EFCC welcomes donations of unexpired food items. A wishlist of items needed can be found  HERE at unitycr.org.
