Social Action and Outreach

Our Social Action and Outreach Ministry serves the greater Cedar Rapids area in a number of ways. We put into practice the divine Law of Circulation: “To realize and maintain divine order, substance must have both an inlet and an outlet in consciousness, and must be kept moving.  Everyone must receive freely and give as freely as they receive” (Charles Fillmore, Unity Co-Founder).

UnityCR social action activities include:

  • Elayne Fisher Community Cupboard: UnityCR’s food bank which serves the local community
  • Tanager Place Angel Tree: Congregants donate Christmas gifts to children
  • Stuffed Animal Roundup: Congregants donate stuffed animals to various community groups
  • Community Events: Congregants participate in a variety of events such as Cedar Rapids and Iowa City PRIDE, CR Freedom Festival Parade, and health and charity causes.

We are always open to considering other ideas for serving our commUnity. Have an idea? Please contact us.
