The Unity Movement is Founded in Prayer and Meditation
Co-founder Myrtle Fillmore used affirmative prayer and meditation to heal herself of lifelong physical disease. Her husband, Charles Fillmore, followed suit after observing the results of Myrtle’s spiritual work.
At UnityCR, we serve through a variety of prayer and meditation ministries and activities.
A member of the Prayer Room Ministry Team will be available for one-on-one prayer following each Sunday Service. The Prayer Room is open to everyone, and prayers during this sacred time are held in complete confidence.
The UnityCR Prayer Box is located in our sanctuary. Any time during office hours and on Sunday mornings, you may place your prayer intention in the prayer box. Our prayer ministry teams hold your intentions in consciousness for 30 days. Your prayers are then forwarded to Silent Unity at Unity World Headquarters, where they are held in consciousness for another 30 days.
You may email prayer intentions to Prayer@UnityCr.org, call the office at 319.393.5422, or fill out the prayer request below. All prayer requests are then sent to the members of our Prayer Tree ministry. We pray affirmatively, holding the intention of right outcomes and pray using first names only. Prayer tree ministry volunteers will hold your intention in prayer for 30 days. After 30 days, all prayer requests are mailed to Silent Unity at Unity’s world headquarters. There, your request is held in prayer for another 30 days.
24 Hour Silent Prayer
In addition to the Prayer-a-Thon, Unity Center of Cedar Rapids holds regular 24 hour silent prayer retreats throughout the year. Check our current events to see if one is coming soon!
